Lance Gilliam
Managing Partner, Concentric Community Advisors
Lance Gilliam is the Managing Partner of Concentric Community Advisors, where he serves as an experienced, hands-on collaborator guiding developments to remain aligned with community and stakeholder needs. With decades of experience building strong public-private partnerships, Lance has led efforts to support community reinvestment through socially equitable, community-centric projects, especially those including affordable housing opportunities.
His career includes shared responsibility for leasing numerous high-impact retail developments, including the opening of more than seventy grocery stores in Houston neighborhoods. He brings extensive expertise in retail user-driven transactions, representing local, regional, and national firms and restaurateurs such as ALDI, H-E-B, Frost Bank, macy’s, T.JMaxx, and Walmart.
Prior to founding Concentric Community Advisors, Lance was a Partner at Waterman Steele Real Estate Advisors, where he focused on community reinvestment initiatives and the creation of partnerships between the public and private sectors. His work has consistently prioritized developments that address critical community needs while fostering long-term economic vitality.
Beyond his professional roles, Lance is deeply engaged in civic leadership and advocacy. He has served as Chairman of the Board for both the Coalition for the Homeless of Houston/Harris County and the Houston Housing Authority. He is a former President of the Board of Directors for the Children’s Museum of Houston and currently served on the Board of Directors and as Co-Chair of the Public Policy Committee for children at risk.
Lance holds a BBA in Real Estate from Southern Methodist University, a Master’s degree in Urban Planning from the University of Southern California, and was briefly a PhD student in the University of Texas School of Architecture’s Department of Community and Regional Planning. He is currently a Senior Fellow at the University of Texas LBJ School of Public Affairs.
